What is UFTAA ?

The United Federation of Travel Agents’ Associations (UFTAA) emanates from the Universal Federation of Travel Agents’ Associations created in Rome, Italy, on November 22nd, 1966. UFTAA was originally founded as a result of a merger of two large world organisations, FIAV and UOTAA, recognising the need to unify travel agencies and tour-operators into one international federation.

In 1989, coming from Brussels, UFTAA set up its General Secretariat in the Principality of Monaco.

UFTAA started its operation as a Confederation on January 1st, 2003. It is a non-profit Confederation of international scope, representing Regional Federations comprising some 80 national associations.  More...

CANCELLATION OF THE SOFIA CONGRESS - THE GENERAL ASSEMBLIES ARE MAINTAINED


The 44th UFTAA Congress - which was scheduled to be held in Sofia (Bulgaria) from September 25th to 29th next - has had to be cancelled consequent upon the withdrawal of the sponsoring national association. The UFTAA Board of Directors, after consulting the membership, has determined that the scheduled 2010 General Assemblies will nevertheless still go ahead, by popular demand. They will take place in Rimini (Italy) fromOctober 20th to 23rd. At the Extraordinary General Assembly and Annual General Assembly, Members will address the issues of restructuring the Federation and developing modern statutes tailored to meet contemporary commercial conditions. These meetings will be held in conjunction with the TTG Incontri which has kindly assumed sponsorship of these key UFTAA events. In addition to conducting the Federation’s business in Rimini, participants will have opportunities to meet potential Italian business partners.
