It is a great occasion for our global organization UFTAA to celebrate the success of our 50 years contribution to the travel industry.  Such occasions are extremely rare. I am delighted that our esteemed members have assigned me the task of offering Leadership to UFTAA  and to help usher UFTAA into a new era. Our new and dynamic board is all set.We live in a world that is fast evolving and consistently offering opportunities like never before. Today’s focus is to relate with the fast approaching future and be empowered to optimize this fantastic opportunity called “tomorrow”.
Travel & Tourism Industry is an important economy. In many countries it is among the top few revenue earners. This fast growing industry is among the largest of the service industries with gross revenues and foreign exchange earnings. It is an industry with the largest employment generation.  It is projected as an Industry that would double its inventory of aircrafts; aviation employees and passengers in the next 16 years.  The big question is “Are we prepared for this exponential future? Are we training young adults to handle this massive growth? What should be our emphasis to proactively encounter and optimize this humungous growth? Prof Rosabeth Moss Kanter from Harvard says it all : Our future will be shaped by the assumptions we make about who we are and what we  can be.UFTAA’s renewed vision on our future reflects our keenness to impact on our challenging industry. With its vast experience and reach, there is so much UFTAA and all of us can accomplish for our well-being.  Our new Board of Directors are ably supported by our past.UFTAA is keen to partner with as many industry associates to respond to this incredible opportunity. Apart from our keenness to work with associations, we are getting ready to partner with institutional members as well as affiliates (individual travel and tourism agencies) and offer an important opportunity of networking; sharing best practices and collective training. It is well said by Mark Twain “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do rather than by the ones you did do. So throw of the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream Discover” Yes. UFTAA can be an excellent and pro-active opportunity. We have a big dream to discover the next level. We invite your active participation; partnership and association with UFTAA. We shall be delighted to be connected and keep it that way for us to progress as we grow.

With warm regards

Sincerely yours

Sunil Kumar

President, UFTAA
